Tabex Ingredients

Tabex is a smoking cessation product manufactured by Sopharma, a Bulgarian pharmaceutical company. The active ingredient in Tabex is cytisine, which is a natural plant-based alkaloid found in plants like the laburnum tree.

Cytisine

Cytisine is the main active substance in Tabex. It works by attaching to the same nicotine receptors in the brain but does not produce the same pleasurable feeling as nicotine. This helps to reduce nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms, making it easier to quit smoking.

Ingredients

In addition to cytisine, Tabex tablets contain other inactive ingredients like:

  • The active substance is cytisine. One tablet contains 1.5 mg cytisine
  • Mannitol
  • Magnesiumstearat
  • Microcrystalline cellulose
  • Glycerol dibehenate
  • Hypromellose

These other ingredients act as fillers and binders to help form the tablets. They do not have any therapeutic effect.
